A vibrant city, rich in culture
In recognition of the vibrancy Glasgow has established for itself over the past 10 years, the city has already been awarded the titles of European City of Culture and the UK City of Architecture and Design.
Glasgow is a showpiece for quality urban design, and is home to natural sanctuaries - the 'dear green place' boasts over 70 public parks, including Glasgow Green, Kelvingrove and Pollok Park, home to the renowned Burrell collection.
The same goes for cultural life. Glasgow is home to Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, Citizens Theatre and Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
Three huge cinema multiplexes offer everything you'd expect. The Glasgow Film Theatre is a world-renowned arthouse cinema - and Glasgow's IMAX simply shows the biggest images around on an 80ft x 60ft screen.
